There is an extremely simple way to add a “Tweet This” link to your WordPress blog posts. It involves no plugins. The fewer plugins used the better, in my humble opinion. For those of you who don’t know, a “Tweet This” link gives your readers the option of easily posting a link to your post to their Twitter account stream. That’s a good thing because all of their Twitter followers will then be introduce to you and your writing. Basically, a “Twit This” link equals more traffic and readers for you and your blog.

So, simply copy and paste the following code inside the WordPress loop found in the single.php file of your current theme.

<a title="Send this post to Twitter!" href="http://twitter.com/home?status=I just read <?php the_permalink(); ?>"><strong>Tweet This!</strong></a>

That’s all there is to it, really. Simply copy and paste the above in your loop. Just be sure to place the code somewhere sensible and intuitive.
