The NORAD Santa Claus Tracker

WP Greet Box icon
Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to grab the RSS feed or subscribe via email to receive updates on this topic and many others!

Time to fire up the ‘ole NORAD Santa Claus Tracker! NORAD is the bi-national U.S. – Canadian military organization responsible for the aerospace defense of the United States and Canada. They have tracked Santa in some fashion for more than 50 years!

My kids and I have made tracking Santa Claus on Christmas Eve a yearly tradition. So, we have already begun our family huddle around the PC to watch Santa’s progress and learn more about a few of his secrets (like how many cookies he actually snacks on during his long journey). The way NORAD tracks Santa, as well as Santa’s secrets, amazes the kids. NORAD provides hourly updates on Santa sightings and Santa’s progress are available in audio and video. Thanks NORAD!

Well I guess this is as good a place as any to wish you a Merry Christmas Shawn. For some strange reason I have an affinity for the Christmas Song ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’ and see deeper religious meaning in these well known lyrics from the popular Christmas song ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’. . . ;-)

He sees when you are sleeping

    He knows when you’re awake

He knows when you’ve been bad or good

So be good for goodness sake

  2. Merry Christmas Robin! LOL! Yes, Santa seems to posses omniscient and omnipotent like qualities!

  3. Merry Christmas everyone!

I just ran across this Santa Claus tracker and my name is Robin. I am the real Mrs. Claus. My husband’s name is Nicholas Claus, I call him Saint Nick. We are in Phoenix, Arizona right now getting some sun. Good luck to all. This was fun, but we are real, no joke.

The NORAD Santa tracker used to be so cool. Now it is all fluff. There is no way to find out when Santa is due in your neighborhood. This is the ONLY thing that kids who are young enough to still believe, actually have more than a passing interest in. Sure there is value in exposing them to the places that Santa has been, and those individual cultures and people. But if you want to make a kid happy on Christmas eve with a Santa Tracker, you have to tell them WHEN Santa might arrive. Again – all the other stuff to them, is fluff.
This new tracker was clearly built for its sponsors.
