So much of life is lived in the future or past tense. In other words, the vast majority of us spend nearly all of our time regretting past decisions or thinking about what we hope to accomplish at some point in the distant future. Few of us live long enough in the present – the here and now – to actually appreciate and enjoy what is going on within us and all round us. We miss so much of life because we are either looking back, or looking far ahead. It’s tough – if not impossible – to actually relax when you are so preoccupied with rubbernecking the swinging pendulum that is yesterday and tomorrow.

It’s all about the here and now! The moment you are living right now in this instance is as alive as you will ever be! Bask in it!

The most important thing in your life is whatever is going on in your immediate present. Sure yesterday and tomorrow are important, but not so important that your right now is totally eclipsed by them. Stop regretting yesterday; don’t worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will worry about itself. You are not the only one who is riding this bumpy, off-camber, and sometimes chaotic trail called life. The fates are not singling you out! Everyone experiences a myriad of successes and failures, joys and disappointments. It’s all a part of life and living. So, just relax and enjoy the ride!
