What is a lifestream? A lifestream is a centrally aggregated chronology of your activities online. In other words, it’s a place where a time-based record of your online actions at places like Twitter, YouTube, LastFM, and Flickr are recorded.
A Weathered Monk is my new, personal lifestream. It’s a good example of what is being described above. Monk is fed RSS feeds from my Twitter, YouTube, LastFM, and Flickr accounts. Each action taken at those sites results in an update of my lifestream. So, if I listen to Radiohead on iTunes it is scrobbled to LastFm and then it is sent and appears on my lifestream. If I write a new blog post here on Tribe, it’ll appear on the chronological record over at Monk. That’s a lifestream.
“Why?” You might be asking yourself. Because we can! That’s why!
If you are interested in launching your own lifestream than I would suggest checking out Sweetcron. That’s the software powering Monk.
