“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein
I don’t know about you, but I have grown very weary of debates concerning topics that should have been concluded a long time ago. Some people simply refuse to move forward, and their penchant to justify their spiritual dormancy to anyone who refuses to join them in their lethargy usually manifests here in this blog’s comments. Yes it is odd, but I can live with odd. What I can’t live with is the accompanying and consequent disruption these folks introduce to otherwise progressive conversations. Nothing disrupts a forward thinking conversation more than backwards directed comments concerning dated issues that have already been relieved by common sense. I wish the frozen chosen would simply stop at being odd, or suddenly realize the satisfaction they claim exists in their spiritual immutability. I could coexist with such people. It’s too bad their need to justify their limited approach trumps their own need for the self-actualization of all that they preach and argue.
It is because of this unfortunate reality, that I am strictly enforcing comment moderation on my blog. I used to publish all comments. I will not be doing so from this point forward. I will now only publish comments that are relevant to posts. Said differently, if you have something constructive to add to the post, then rest assured it will be published without hesitation. Please keep in mind that this is my blog. My blog is focused on postmodern expressions of spirituality. It is progressive in scope and liberal in direction. The things I write here will most assuredly reflect the principles inherent to such expression. So, what I’m looking for is constructive conversation centered in postmodern, progressive and liberal spiritual discussion. You know that, right? Good! Too many good conversations are disrupted and sidetracked by individuals who desire nothing more than to argue with me about how my spiritual and philosophical center is inferior to theirs. I no longer have the time or energy or desire to participate in such fruitless arguments. I used to get quite caught up in such arguments, but after years of experiencing its fruitlessness, I have awakened to the realization that the activity itself is the definition of insanity (i.e., doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results).
Therefore, from this point forward, any comment(s) that are neither relevant to this blog’s central purpose, nor constructive to the immediate conversation, will not be published. It’s my blog folks, and I do reserve the right to moderate it for the greater good invested into it.
Update: Also, real names would be nice too. If you really want to have a conversation, you will use your name. Why the need to stay anonymous?

*WHEW*!
I recently was sucked into a “my view is the only right view” blog discussion that you have described. I was personally attacked in the reply to my comment with my perspective. [http://godthepossible.blogspot.com/2008/04/off-center-danger-of-centering-prayer.html] All the Religions of the world have developed because there were spiritual sages that wanted to put words and rituals to what they experienced. It is the human condition to reduce their teachings to narrow thinking, politics, money and power. I have seen some of the most unloving and uncentered words come from those who are dogmatic in their religious views.
“What the author of the classic “Cloud of Unknowing” says is that first you have to enter into “the cloud of forgetting.” Forget all your certitudes, all your labels, all your explanations, whereby you’ve put this person in this box; this group is going to heaven, this race is superior to that race. Just forget it. It’s largely a waste of time. It’s usually your ego projecting itself, announcing itself, and protecting itself. It has nothing to do with objective reality or real love of the truth.
If the world, and the world’s religions, do not learn this kind of humility and patience, I think we’re in definite trouble.” ~Richard Rohr
*Good Luck* …your writings are very insightful, informative and inspiring.
