A Beginner Cellist
My twin daughters are taking instrument lessons in elementary school. One is studying the cello; the other is studying the flute. I happen to love both the cello and the flute. They are excellent instruments and I am so proud of my two girls.
I was listening to the two of them practice their instruments last evening, and in spite of their absolute lack of ability (they are only beginners), the sounds they were making were beautiful nonetheless. In fact, the sounds they were making with their instruments – which can be best described as a wicked mixture of quick flute-like bursts and dragged-out cello-like groans and moans – reminded me that this life I am living is ultimately lived for my kids. It’s all about my family; it’s all about my wife and my children. Everything I do is and always will be for my wife and kids.

A Budding Flutist
My family is my life. Period. Everything else is just a job. Believe it.
